In 1972, "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" invaded the minds of the new generation with a lethal mix of rock ' n ' roll alien, androgynous sexuality and colorful theater performances, making David Bowie the largest musical phenomenon of the decade. But Bowie was a continuing effort to hit with the right formula to take him to success. This BBC documentary reveals Bowie's mission to the stars by musicians and companions who accompanied him on the musical journey that made him doubt his true identity and forcing him to the disappearance of his alien alter ego, Ziggy Stardust.
