MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1942 film?

In a provincial town, a professor widower leads a modest life with his only son. When on a school trip, a student drowned in a lake, he takes responsibility for the accident and resigned. He then decides to leave the city and move to his hometown. During the trip, father and son discuss the future and include establishing a relationship at the same time near and distant. One day the father announces he intends to send him to study in a boarding school. Years later, the father works in Tokyo and the child's teacher. In a meeting the child's father tells him to be war.
