MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1961 film?

The young public prosecutor Dr. Kessler is facing the trial of his life: he has carefully collected all the evidence to convict the designer Dr. Werner Rüttgen of poisoning his wife. The motive for the crime seems clear: the wife had to leave in order to be able to marry the mistress. Kessler makes a brilliant plea in which he demands life imprisonment. He convinces the jury. But suddenly the trial takes a sensational turn. Laura Beaumont, who is present in the courtroom, suddenly claims that the defendant is innocent and gives him an alibi that cannot be shaken by anything. The defendant is released, but Kessler is left with justified doubts. He decides to investigate on his own in order to save his career...
