The plot tells the story of Maria, a very young girl with an insubordinate temperament and great caboclo beauty with her long braids. Her father and boss decide to marry her to Izé, a young and famous cowboy. In the exuberant landscape of the Goias cerrado, the story of a profound plunge into the mystery of simple souls and into female sensibility, on a level that only the poetry of Cora Coralina, recreated here cinematographically, could reach.
