MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 1949 film?

Also known by the title of The Contact Man, this is a strange tape where Ray Milland plays the Lucifer himself. A current - devil, rather stylish, I must say, that decides to play with the soul of an honest judge who aspires for governor. Granting all kinds of compliments and favors, and deceiving him with the excuse that it's all for the common good, the judge accepts the rules and falls squarely in a world of corruption and dissolute life he does not know how to stop. Fortunately for him, there are forces of good that can protect you. Ingenious variant of the myth of "Faust" with pace of a thriller directed by John Farrow and not very well understood at the time.
