Laysa Alam wool / A World Not Ours is an intimate portrait, sometimes humorous, three generations of exile in the refugee camp of Ein el- Hilweh in southern Lebanon. Based on a set of personal documents, family records and historical footage, the documentary is a sensitive and revealing study of the sense of belonging, friendship and family. Filmed over 20 years for several generations of the same family, Alam laysa wool is not just a family portrait, is also an attempt to record what I tend to forget and highlight what should not fade from the collective memory.
