In April 2011, Ai Weiwei was kidnapped by the Chinese authorities, held in a secret and inaccessible region. Nearly three months after it was released, but under house arrest. The Danish filmmaker Andreas Johnsen, became interested in the case and decided to film the artist and his conflicts with authority. The result is Ai Weiwei: The Case Fake documentary that reveals the amazing pressure on the artist by officials and authorities in China.
