What do you feel a surgeon to have the powers of a god, however, must face his humanity? What do you feel when trying to rescue a man and fail? THE ENGLISH SURGEON is shot in Ukrainian health center full of desperate patients and doctors who try to work with improvised means. It is the intimate portrait of neurosurgeon Henry Marsh as he struggles with the dilemmas that arise in the relationship between doctor and patient. " It's a bit like selling your soul to the devil, but what can you do? My son had a brain tumor as a baby and desperately needed someone to help me. I can not turn our backs on this need in others.".
