First of a series of thirteen films produced by Suomen Filmiteollisuus between 1953 and 1960, based on the comic Pekka Puupää invented by Ola Fogelberg in 1925. Puupää Pekka's character is one of the most recognized in Finnish popular culture, it is a simple gentleman a little silly. Also his wife Justiina, a Harsh Mistress, and his comrade Pátka clueless.
