In the cinema of Matthias Meyer relationships are built slowly. Even before the relationship among men is the relationship of these with nature. In The cramp presents a Frenchman who is alone in a fishing community on the Pacific coast of Mexico: Chacahua Lagoons in Oaxaca. Julien, French, also is only sad, isolated, almost depressed.
