MOVIE SYNOPSIS - Where can I watch it and what's the story of this 2001 film?

The first of January 1500 is a new world discovered by Europeans. It is in this context that lives in Portugal Diogo young painter who is hired to illustrate a map of the new territory. But deceived by the seductive Isabelle ends up being deported in a caravel sinking at the beginning of the voyage. Diogo miraculously survives, and gets to the Brazilian coast. Then he meets the beautiful Indian Paraguaçu, who begins a romance that gets complicated later when it is included in the Indian Moema Paraguaçu sister.
